What does "atypical grid usage" mean?

1

In the case of atypical grid usage, the company's maximum electricity consumption is outside the peak load time window defined by the grid operator (period of maximum grid load).

2

Depending on the grid level, the company must fall below the average annual maximum load by at least 20% during this period in order to benefit from atypical grid usage (Section 19 (2) StromNEV).

3

With a battery storage system, this materiality threshold can be achieved by drawing energy from the battery and not the grid during the relevant time period.

4

This enables electricity cost savings of at least 20%.
