The new electricity storage system at Hasseröder in Wernigerode offers the brewery maximum flexibility to avoid peak loads and reduce the load on the local grid. The brewery is already one of the most efficient in AB InBev's European network. It is the second of a total of four joint projects between EDF Renewables and AB InBev in Germany.

In the ten-year partnership, EDF Renewables Germany bears all investments and risks. The battery storage system at Beck & Co. in Bremen with a capacity of 1.6 megawatts kicked off at the beginning of November 2023.

Over the course of the year, more battery storage systems are to be commissioned at the remaining two AB InBev sites, in Munich at Spaten-Löwenbräu and in Issum at Diebels. In total, the four projects will provide AB InBev with more than five megawatts of battery power and will accompany the company on its way to CO2-neutral brewing.
